Landcare

Hi, my name is Noemí. I am Spanish biologist at the Autonomous University of Madrid and I did Master’s in Environmental and Outdoor Education in Santiago de Compostela University.

I have worked on projects related to the environment, education, childhood and social integration of gypsy communities in different parts of Spain. For the last year I have participated in an awareness program about wildfire in Galician, this Project is Plantando cara ó lume and we do different environmental education activities.

I participated in Landcare programme this year, I could go in my intership to Portugal, to EDIA (Empresa de Desenvolvimento e Infraestruturas do Alqueva). My work consisted in elaborating diverse educational materials related to water resources, biodiversity and the environment in Alentejo's region.

I believe that environmental education is a fundamental tool for the defense of nature, together we will take care of our world. Participating in “Landcare for the Future” conference is a good opportunity to walk forward together.
